Description This test strip is ideal to test pools and hot tubs where peroxides, rather than chlorine, are used to sanitise. It tests peroxide solutions used in cases where strong disinfection is needed. The Peroxide test strip is calibrated at 0, 100, 200 and 400ppm and gives results in just over 1 minute. Results of these test strips are shown in parts per million (ppm) of Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2). Suitable for: fresh water samples as well as pools and hot tubs (where peroxides, rather than chlorine, are used) including water from taps, wells, springs, boreholes, ponds as well as rain water Contains: 50 test strips Testing Levels: 0, 100, 200 and 400ppm Total Test Time: 1 minute 1 second How to Use: Dip the test strip into water sample for 1 second, then remove. Wait 1 minute, then compare colour change to colour chart. NOTE: Solutions with a concentration of 400ppm will exhibit a dark/black spot on the centre of the test pad 45 seconds after dipping. If used in Peroxide concentrations above 2000ppm (or 0.2%), the test strip will turn an off-white with a hint of green. Not suitable to test liquids made using “accelerated” hydrogen peroxide products. Suitable for detection of hydroperoxides and ether peroxides. Polymeric peroxides, which can form in diethylether, are not detected. Organic peroxides, such as di-terc-butyl peroxide, di-cumyl peroxide or terc-butyl perbenzoate, either do not react or react with significantly reduced sensitivity. Interferences: other oxidising agents, such as peracedic acid, chlorine, similar colour developments may occur General description: For semi-quantitative determinations. Detection method: colorimetric. Fast, simply dip and read indicator paper. Consists of a plastic strip with attached sealed test paper. Compare colour change of test paper with fields of equal size on colour chart provided on plastic box. Please note:  Store in a cool, dry place (between 20- 30°C) and away from excess heat and direct sunlight. Keep away from children and pets. Avoid contact of test areas on strips with skin & eyes, do not ingest or expose to acids. Do not touch test pad. This is a screening test and can not be used to certify water as safe or unsafe for drinking. It provides approximate results ONLY when used in strict accordance with instructions.
